Are You or Someone you know struggling with PORNOGRAPHY or sinful sexual desires of the flesh? If so read this. I hope this can help. God Bless you. You Can Be Free!!

Those of us who have been filled with the Holy Ghost and living for God seem to fight battles at times between our flesh and the spirit. Have you ever felt the struggle at times between doing right and wrong? Having sinful thoughts out of nowhere pop up in your mind? Having a desire in your flesh that is not pleasing to God? Catching yourself looking at things you should not be looking at? Have you ever felt a war in your mind or body on wanting to please God but wanting to please your desires of the flesh?

Maybe not all of us have been there but I know a majority of us have been. Many people that I know personally who are filled with the Holy Ghost and attend church regularly seem to be dealing with this problem. I’ve even seen many of them dance, jump, and run in their worship to God at church and later that night be sending dirty pictures to one another, cursing, or engaging in watching things that God is totally against. Some of them living on the line of being luke warm and will be spit out of Gods mouth (Rev 3:15-16). They are taught that it is wrong to be doing such things but still want a part of the world in their life. Some of them knowing better but still acting upon those things that are sinful.

I am not judging or putting anyone down. I have been there myself. Sometimes not even knowing when you have gone to far is far enough to God. Many people I know who have been brought up in church deal with this struggle. They have been taught at a young age to follow the Spirit and not the flesh but they seem to fall into the snare of it all. They seem to not have that hunger inside for God and show by their actions, words, thoughts, and motives to please Him.

I myself was not brought up in church. I was not taught anything concerning keeping your body holy. I was totally new to this whole thing of waiting until marriage. Concerning women who long for that emotional and physical connection with a man thinking sexual desires is a way to show love to them and to receive love back from them, is true. BUT…. Yes there is a BUT there….. GOD DESIGNED IT FOR MARRIAGE…… Between a man and a women living right before God to love each other in ways God designed it to be. It is a natural feeling to be attracted to and like someone of the opposite sex. God made it that way for us.

I WISH MEN who are GODLY men would stand up for what is taking control over our young people (and even our older people) in church. Men are being taking by pornography. Women are taken by physical contact thinking its true love. The devil has but short time on earth. “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time (Rev 12:12kjv)”. The devil is out to destroy you. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8kjv)”. The devil is out to steal you away from going to heaven. He is out to take you down. He is looking for anything to get you to fall. He is doing what he can to get your mind and eyes off of God. He knows your weakness and he will use that to make you sin.

I will give you a few scriptures that help me fight the devil off at times when he tries to pull me down. Most of all if you do not have the Holy Ghost start asking God to fill you with it. If you have not spoken in tongues (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-22, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6kjv) you have not received the Holy Ghost. After you receive the Holy Ghost you will receive power (Acts 1:8) to overcome those things that take you down. Make sure that you have been baptized in Jesus name. For it says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4kjv)”. It goes on to say, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (Romans 6:6)”. Receiving the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus name gives you power to overcome sin in your life. The old nature you had is gone if you follow the spirit and not your flesh.

Now that you have what you need to overcome, you need to yield to it. It goes on to say, “let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof (Romans 6:12kjv)”. I will use the amplified bible for this next verse for it may explain it better for others to understand. It goes on to say, “Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right doing and right standing with God) Romans 6:16”? “For to be carnally minded is death: but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6kjv)”.

If you read in Romans chapter 7:13-25 you will read about the struggle of two natures. If you continue reading through Romans chapter 8 you will learn ways to overcome the flesh. It is very important what you allow come into your mind and your heart. It says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7kjv)”. If you allow lust to come into your heart and mind you will be drawn away and commit sin. The Bible Says, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (James 1:14-15kjv)”. As you can see in this verse it says every man is tempted. When you allow the lust to form in your heart and your mind you are allowing sin to take place. “Abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11kjv)”.

It is in our nature to have this war between our flesh and the Spirit. Those of us who have the Holy Ghost and have been baptized in Jesus name have the power to overcome these lust that war against our soul. We are to walk in newness of life. Avoiding all situations that will make us fall into sin. It says, “Set your affection (mind) on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2)”. We need to make sure to be living with this newness of life. To be living according to the Spirit and not the flesh. “For if we live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (put to death) the deeds of the body, ye shall live (Romans 8:13kjv)”.

It is up to us to do the work to avoid sin with the help of following the Spirit. “Put off concerning the former conversation (conduct) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24kjv)”. We are to put off and not go back to our old ways. We need to yield to the power of the Spirit that is within us now. “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16kjv)”. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Self-Control), (Galatians 5:22-23)”. After you receive the Holy Ghost you receive the fruit that comes along with it. It is giving to us to have self-control now. It is up to us to use what is given unto us or ignore it and let the flesh control our ways.

We are in a time were pornography and self-pleasure is ramped in our age. The bible gives of all the answers and warns us on what is going on. We need to pray that our eyes are open to see it coming and turn away from it. “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit is truly ready, but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38kjv)”. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (without self-control), fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors (reckless), heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than (rather than) lovers of God; having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (2 Timothy 3:1-5kjv)”.

“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world (Titus 2:12kjv)”. We are to live righteously, godly, and soberly in this time even when there is so much sin going on. We need to do our part and deny those lusts that spring up in our heart and mind. Remember this “therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are new (2 Corinthians 5:17kjv)”. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh (near) to God and he will draw nigh to you (James 4:7-8 kjv)”. When you submit yourself to God you are resisting the devil and the temptation of the flesh. The desires of the flesh grow dim the more you draw closer and keep your eyes on God. .

God always gives us a choice. He does not force us or make us choose to live right. He wants us to have a willing heart to love him and live godly before Him. His word is the best tool and guide for us to learn to overcome these things which come against us. “For the word of God is quick (living), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of (able to judge) the thoughts and intents (intentions) of the heart (Hebrews 4:12)”.

We need to be very cautious on what we think about. “And be not conformed unto this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2kjv)”. We need to guard our eyes from seeing things we should not see. “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes (Psalms 101:3kjv)”. We are to be separate from what other people in the world are doing. We’re not supposed to be submitting ourselves to the same behaviors unbelievers engage in. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (2 Corinthians 6:17kjv)”.

“Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed] (1 Corinthians 6:18amp)”. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19kjv)”? We are to run away from anything that is impure in thought, word, or deed. It is the only way for us to get free from the bondage of our flesh. We all face situations that bring us to a crossroad in our life. Temptation is around us every place we go to now. In the store, in magazines, on the computer, on television, in the mall, just walking down the street, and even in sales ad’s to attract people to buy their products. We cannot avoid seeing dirty pictures of men and women half dressed anymore. It’s all around us. What we can do is use the self-control God has giving to us: turn away and look the other way. We don’t need to have filthy pictures of immodest dressed people in our thoughts. The devil can use that to tempt us later down the road at a time when we are weak. It’s more than just pictures its how people dress in today’s world. Like I said before we do have the choice to turn and look away. Why take pleasure in staring at someone dressed immodest. All you are doing is fulfilling the flesh and not living according to the Spirit. If you are fulfilling the flesh you then will be committing sin, which will bring for death. Do you want to please the devil? When you act upon your fleshly desires that is what you are doing.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear (endure) it (1 Corinthians 10:13kjv)”. I never understood this verse until recently. We will all face temptations. It says that God will give us a way to escape the temptation. How do we escape it? Turn the other way. Don’t put yourself in a situation that you know is not pleasing to God. Make the right choice. Avoid it. Say No. He has giving us the choice to yield to the flesh or to turn from it. The way of escape is to yield to the Spirit and not your flesh.

Keep your mind upon Godly things and you will not want to fulfill the lust of your flesh. “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you (Philippians 4:8-9kjv)”. If you deal with the sins of the flesh, continue reading the word of God. Learn to be honest with yourself about your thoughts, words, and deeds. Search yourself and see if there be any wicked way in you. When you learn to be honest about yourself and the sin you are entangled with you can start changing. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32kjv)”.

You can be free from sin. You can overcome the bondage of sin that you feel you cannot stop. If you repeatedly continue to fall into temptations then maybe you need to dedicate yourself more to prayer and fasting. The bible says, “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21kjv)”. Some people are so entangled and oppressed with such sin that only intense prayer and fasting can loose someone in these cases. Most of all trust in God and He will direct you. He will open doors to help you get through your struggles. Just make sure to do your part. Remember to do this “Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil (Proverbs 3:5-7kjv)”.
